Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report

Police stated they were alerted by a resident who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then found numerous other marked cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; officials are not yet informed of any harm in association with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for details.

An important political figure commented the attack left him without words and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, recalling the death of nine people by a assailant targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
